Mat Solart is a passionate Artist (and Counsellor) specialising in the transformative power of nostalgia and reminiscence.
He uses a technique that he calls “Pictorial Photomontages” to craft digital paintings that allows photographs and painting to be merged into a single image.

Mat's journey into creating Magical Recollections began after moving to a new country, where he found himself frequently in the company of solitude. During this time, he discovered that he naturally turned to comforting memories from his past as a way to ease the feelings of loneliness. Intrigued by the emotional relief these memories provided, Mat began exploring the psychological benefits of nostalgia—how reconnecting with past moments can bring comfort and well-being.
This research led him to understand the profound impact of nostalgia on emotional health, ultimately inspiring the creation of Magical Recollections, a project that allows others to tap into their own treasured memories through iconic images from popular culture, including famous characters, actors, and blockbuster films, and finely detailed, custom-made digital paintings.
